We also make the process frictionless by:
- Translating marketing goals into clear, farm-friendly assignments.
- Ensuring requests align with what’s actually happening on the farm.
- Providing structure, feedback, and guidance to improve content quality.
- Handling payments quickly and fairly.
Most brands don’t have the time or resources to do all this. We do—so you get better content, from the right people, without the extra work.

Authenticity isn’t seasonal. With Make Hay, you’ll always have fresh, relevant content to share.
Yes! Once you select a video, it’s yours to download and edit for length, format, or minor adjustments while keeping the authenticity intact.
Make Hay is built for real, unscripted storytelling, so the goal is to get it right with minimal revisions. To keep things simple for both brands and farmers, content creators expect one round of feedback. It helps them improve and ensures you get what you need.
That said, our AI-powered briefing tool is designed to make sure your request is clear, actionable, and feasible, so you get the right content on the first take—keeping the process smooth and efficient.
No, all you need to do is sign up and create a profile (which will take you less than 3 minutes), and get set to receive assignments. It’s that simple.
Because your story matters.
Make Hay isn’t about perfect editing or being an influencer—it’s about capturing real, everyday moments from the farm. Some of the best content comes from farmers who never thought of themselves as creators but know how to use a camera phone and share what they do best.
We make it easy:
- No fancy equipment needed—just your phone.
- Clear, simple content requests tailored to what’s happening on your farm.
- Guidance and support to help you get it right.
- Fair pay for content that brands want.
Farming is your job. Helping you get paid for sharing it is ours.
Our goal is simple: help farmers tell their stories and get paid fairly.
Brands select the videos they want to use, and when your video is picked, you get paid—typically $250 per video, though rates may vary depending on the assignment.
To make sure you have the best shot at getting selected, we:
- Cap the number of content requests so your chances of selection stay high.
- Coach farmers to create content that brands love.
- See multiple videos selected per assignment—many brands choose more than one.
Once your video is selected, Make Hay handles your payment securely through Stripe for fast and easy ACH transfers. We also offer gift card payouts if you prefer.
And if your video isn’t picked right away? It could still be used for another assignment. We’re also working on media partnerships to create even more ways to get you paid.
You create. Brands select. You get paid. Simple as that.
Absolutely. You decide what to share.
Make Hay is farmer-first, meaning you choose which content assignments to take on. If there are aspects of your operation you’d rather keep private, that’s completely up to you.
In fact, many assignments don’t require you to be on camera at all. Some brands just want footage of a harvest at sunset, cattle moving through a pasture, or a close-up of your equipment in action.
You’re in control—share what you’re comfortable with, and get paid for what you create.
Absolutely. If you’re a real farmer, rancher, grower, or producer, we want you on Make Hay.
You don’t need followers—just a camera phone and a connection to the land. Some of the best content on Make Hay comes from hardworking producers who aren’t on social media at all.
We connect legit, authentic farmers directly with brands that want real farm content—no audience, no posting, just real stories and real pay.
Not necessarily. Make Hay pays for your content, not your follower count.
We connect brands with real farmers, ranchers, and producers—not just influencers—so they can share authentic stories with their audiences. Your value comes from your experience and perspective, not just your reach.
That said, if you’re an influencer, we won’t hold it against you. If a brand is interested in both your content and your audience, we can help facilitate those conversations so you get paid for both.
Your content, your choice.
Make Hay is built to help you connect with brands you already produce for or those you’d love to work with, giving you opportunities to tell your story and get paid for it.
When setting up your profile, you can:
- List brands you currently produce for or brands you’d love to work with, and we’ll help facilitate those connections where possible.
- Exclude brands you don’t want to work with, ensuring your content isn’t shared with them.
Our goal is to create genuine, valuable partnerships between farmers and brands, making it easier to share real stories in a way that benefits both sides.
